Chapter 6 Ancient Rome and Early Christianity Worksheet Answers

In this final lesson in the “Six Lectures on Ancient Rome and Early Christianity” series, Dr. Helen Deasy provides worksheets that address each of the topics discussed in lectures throughout this series. In the first lecture, she addresses what became of the Essenes. Next she digs into early Christianity and what the relationship was between the church and the government. In the last lecture, she concludes her examination of the role of gender in the religious community in early Christendom.

The first topic that she addresses in this worksheet is what became of the Essenes. What did they do for a living and what can we learn from them about how to live religious lives? The Essenes were a highly educated religious community. They created their own worksheet which included worksheets addressing all of the topics in this lesson along with a bit of explanatory information at the end.

The second topic is Christians before the time of Christ. Did they believe in things like baptism and the Eucharist? How did they view sexual sins? What about capital punishment and the idea of salvation through Christ’s atoning sacrifice? This worksheet will provide the answers to these important questions.

The third topic is Gentiles and Idolaters. Do they not believe in Christ? Do they fall into the same errors as those who are considered by the church to be heretics? The fourth topic is A Good Person, a Bad Person, and God. These are all questions that we must ask ourselves all the time. I have provided a worksheet question and answer concerning each of these topics.

A good person is anyone who believes in Christ and is honest about their beliefs. They would have nothing against the church or its teachings. A bad person is someone who has unorthodoxy or inappropriate opinions. They may also live outside of the code of the church and have little respect for it. A person who practices Idolatry is an adult who worships idols. They break the Ten Commandments and the true meaning of the Bible and should be condemned.

There are other worksheets that deal with these subjects. Two of these are assigned books that I read while researching this topic. One of these books is by Gerald B. Gardner and the other is by Philip Zimbardo. If you want to dig even deeper, you can find several worksheets and topics on the web.

In order to understand what occurred in the ancient world, you need to look to what inspired them. Did they see a star in the sky? Did they find bodies of water on Mars? The true authors of these ancient scriptures were not mentioned or named in the New Testament.

The information provided by the worksheet answers questions about the crucifixion, the raising of Jesus, and other important details from the ancient Gospels. These worksheets provide solid Biblical foundations for the Christian faith. All of these topics and others like them can be found for free on many different websites on the Internet. Why not take advantage of these websites to learn more about early Christianity?

The information provided in these worksheets will not take into consideration what the final word on the history of early Christianity would say. They do however, give excellent answers to questions that any intelligent person would ask about early Christianity. There is no reason to doubt the authors of these worksheets. They have made a lot of effort to research their topics and have often used an educated guess as to what those authors may have seen. This makes them sound very intelligent and credible.

A typical question that any person would ask about the historical Jesus is when did he die? The worksheet answers this question by showing how many hundreds of years are before our time, when did the crucifixion take place and where was it? Who were the people who crucified Jesus? Where are they now? Did Jesus change his clothing? What did the women do during this Crucifixion?

The authors explain that some scholars are of the opinion that the women were his disciples but there is no historical proof for this. They also state there is no way of knowing what happened immediately after the Crucifixion. There is no mention of what the women said or did and none of this is mentioned in the Gospel of John either.

One criticism that I have with this study is it does not answer the question of how the early Christians began to form the church. There is no mention of the four stages through which this occurred. Also there is no mention of who founded the first church. It is my belief that these worksheets are an excellent source for research material if you are looking for ancient Rome and Early Christanism studies. However, this particular study cannot be used as a textbook for your college classes. Be very careful with this one.
