The Reformation has two phases. The first phase was a generation. During this generation there were major shifts in religious practice. Religious tolerance was much more open than it had been in previous centuries. People from different religions were coming together under the banner of Christendom.

The second phase of the Reformation was a generation. During this time the Reformation became a time of great conflict. The age of Henry VIII was riddled with wars and religious debates. In the end, the English King became a Catholic and the England province became part of the reformed religion.

A generation later the generation of Calvinism split from the Roman Catholic Church and became the minority in English society. Calvinism believed that salvation is through grace through the unearned consequences of free will. It was a literal and profound understanding of the Bible and it caused its followers to be imprisoned, oppressed, and persecuted during the reign of Henry VIII. In essence, Calvinism separated salvation from God. Many people were killed during the Age of Calvin.

I believe that we are presently in the third generation. This means we are entering the “age of Aquarius.” This will likely change when a great comet comes out in the constellation Taurus. But for now, Aquarius is leading the generation of salvation.

The generation gap between each of our parents and grandparents is an important historical document. For example, if we look back at the time before we were born, we can see how our parents’ generation did not have much political power or money. But on the other hand, during the time we were born, our grandparents had more than enough money and power to influence the political system. We can conclude that the modern United States is a product of the first generation. During the first generation we were sheltered by our parents and because of this we had a relatively liberalized political system. During the second generation we became more conservative, and we were less fortunate financially.

As we look forward into the future generations, we can see how each generation will relate to the next. Some parents will take the side of tradition and continue to uphold its teachings while others will follow the lead of their younger members and choose to move this teaching into the modern world. We need to remember that the first generation experienced a great deal of struggle. Many of our struggles stem from our lack of understanding or education during that time.

However, the new generation will have more opportunities than its predecessors. They will also have less political power and wealth than their parents and grandparents. The coming generations will also face some of the same struggles as their parents but they will be able to overcome them because they will understand the need for social justice and equality. The future of this country can only be seen with the new generations. The current generation is working hard to make sure this country works for all of its people.

The present generation should take care to preserve traditions that have helped us grow into the strengths we have become. This includes education, family, religion, and freedom. The first generation faced real hardships and made valuable sacrifices.
